Location
Carnwath is a small village approximately nine miles south east of Lanark. Facilities include a primary school, numerous shops, pubs, a bank and an excellent golf course.

Carstairs is also a small village approximately five miles south east of Lanark. Facilities include a primary school, shops, and two pubs.
