Clydesdale Housing Association is pleased to report strong progress on its annual gas servicing programme, with 275 gas safety inspections completed within their anniversary date so far this year.
Gas safety servicing is one of the most important ways we ensure our homes remain safe, secure and compliant. Thanks to the cooperation of tenants and the hard work of our staff and contractors, the programme continues to achieve excellent results.
Of our 300 gas properties, 17 are not yet due for inspection until January 2027. The vast majority of properties that required an annual inspection have therefore already been serviced within the required timescales.
A small number of properties remain outstanding due to access difficulties. Six cases are currently at the stage where forced entry could be considered; however, before progressing further, we are working alongside our Housing Management team to provide tenants with an additional opportunity to arrange access voluntarily. This reflects our commitment to supporting tenants wherever possible while ensuring vital safety checks are completed.
The success of the programme highlights the value of close collaboration between our Property Services and Housing Management teams and demonstrates our continued focus on tenant safety and regulatory compliance.
We would like to thank all tenants who have accommodated appointments and worked with us throughout the year. Their cooperation plays an important role in helping us maintain safe homes for everyone.
Despite a small number of access challenges, CHA has successfully completed over 98% of gas safety inspections due this programme within the required timescales, with additional tenancy support being provided before any enforcement action is considered.
