Inspection Report

Following an Inspection by Communities Scotland in May 2007, Inspectors awarded 'B' or 'good' grades for our Housing Management and Property Maintenance services.  Communities Scotland use the 'B' grade to describe a service that has, "many strengths and some areas where improvement is needed".

Communities Scotland identified our key strengths as:

  • we place people quickly & effectively on our housing list;
  • we are meeting need & maximising access to our housing;
  • we have a very good performance in reducing rent arrears and voids;
  • we have an excellent record in gas servicing;
  • we gather service users' views & we are responsive to our customers;
  • we have an effective performance management framework in place for our Housing Management & Property Maintenance service;
  • we have a good staff team and a strong, focused Management Committee.

Key areas for improvement identified:

  • the need to improve administration around antisocial behaviour recording;
  • we need to introduce a rechargeable repairs system for owners;
  • we need to continue to improve our Right to Repair service;
  • we need to address declining membership levels.
